Build your Math foundations and confidence with QEA #1 rated math tutoring program

Math study is quite progressive in pattern, which means that each grade level is a building block for the next one. Therefore, students need to grasp all essential mathematical concepts and be able to apply them when necessary. But most students tend to memorize math rather than understand it. As a result, they ignore the foundational concepts, which often come back and hurt their marks.

QEA is accredited by the Ministry of Education. Additionally, we have an in-depth understanding of the curriculum and a wealth of experience in teaching math. This enables us to help your child learn math with ease. We pay particular attention to the foundational gaps of our students.

Common challenges that most students encounter in math:

1. Weak foundational skills in math

To excel in maths, students should start at grade 7 or 8 to easily learn foundational skills. These include fractions, algebra, and integers. In high school, the critical skills include graphing, solving equations, geometry, and quadratics. Unless students build strong foundational skills, they often struggle with math from one grade to another. Our tutors ensure to address these foundational gaps with proper lessons and practice problems.

2. Memorize instead of understand

Many students are accustomed to memorizing math instead of understanding it. But there's an issue with his approach; when the teacher changes the question, the students struggle and get stuck, which leads to loss of marks. Understanding math, therefore, means understanding the “why” behind all concepts and steps and how to apply them. Therefore, our lessons at QEA focus on teaching the students these concepts using step-by-step explanations.

The QEA math tutoring program is one on one, private.

Our tutors focus on foundational building, re-addressing foundational gaps of the student, and helping them to understand rather than memorize. We also use extra practice questions to strengthen their understanding and skills.

Build your English foundational skills - writing, reading comprehension, and critical analysis

English is a critical subject in high school because all university programs require good English grades. However, getting excellent English grades demands the following skills: essay writing, reading comprehension, grammar, and critical analysis.

QAE English tutoring program focuses on building 3 vital English skills: reading comprehension, essay writing, and critical analysis. The tutors use the students' regular school curriculum to teach these critical skills. For instance, during our essay writing lessons, the students are taught how to write a concise and apt thesis, a perfect introduction, and create arguments with quotes from Shakespeare or other recommended novels.

Common challenges that most students encounter in English:

1. Students lack proper sentence structures

Several students these days are accustomed to communicating with short messages on their phones. The downside of this is that it leads to poor writing skills, as the habit is translated to school work. As a result, the students lack proper sentence structure and good grammar. However, our lessons at QEA are designed to discipline the students into using proper English in writing. We help them improve their grammar, sentence structure, and writing skills in general by using step-by-step explanations.

2. Students’ essays lack critical analysis and are penalized for marks.

Critical thinking accounts for a significant portion of English grades in high school. However, lots of students lack this skill. For instance, several students tend to state the plot summary in their essays instead of providing an in-depth and accurate critical analysis of the story. This inevitably causes them to lose large marks, leading to poor English grades. We teach our students to go deeper into the story and understand how the plot is connected to the themes.

The QEA English tutoring program is one on one, private.

We help students build their reading, writing, and critical analysis skills, as we work with them through their regular school curriculum.
