Math is a gradually progressive course because each grade level builds up into the next, and on like that. In order to develop a strong foundation, every student needs to learn certain fundamental skills.
At the Brain Adventure summer camp, we dedicate the Math Foundation week to helping each camper refresh their understanding of these essential skills. We review key foundational skills in multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, and application of BEDMAS. This helps your child embrace more advanced math with ease.
A section of the Math Foundation summer camp week is dedicated to fun learning on contest level and problem-solving techniques. In this scenario, we use the Waterloo Gauss Contest curriculum to prepare the students for high school math, which typically involves application and thinking problems. This accounts for 25% of their grades.
While adopting a fun and interactive teaching approach, we encourage students to build their understanding of math concepts instead of simply memorizing equations and steps. Our math week is a fun learning summer camp week!
