Build your Math foundations and confidence with QEA #1 rated math tutoring program

Learning math is a process that builds from one step onto another. What a student learns in one grade will help him in the next one. For this reason, students need to be able to grasp and apply mathematical concepts with ease. But the trouble with learning maths most times is that most students memorize the steps instead of understanding them. They ignore foundational gaps, only to realize sooner or later how it hurts their marks.

QEA is accredited by the Ministry of Education. With our in-depth understanding of the curriculum and wealth of experience in teaching math, we can help your child learn maths with ease, with particular attention to foundational gaps.

Common challenges that most students encounter in math:

1. Weak foundational skills in math

When it comes to building math foundation, grade 7 or 8 is the ideal starting point for students, The student needs to learn solving fractions, integers and algrbra. For high school students, the basic concepts include learning how to solve equations, and quadratic expressions. We address this foundational gaps, thereby helping the student build strong standing in mathematical principles and concepts through constant practice.

2. Memorize instead of understand

Math is better learned by understanding each concept rather than memorizing. The problem with memorizing is that when the student is confronted with a different but similar question, he gets stuck and loses marks. Understanding maths basically entails understanding the 'whys" behind every concept and step and knowing where and when to apply "what". Our lessons at QEA focus on helping the students understand these concepts with practical step by step explanations.

The QEA math tutoring program is one on one, private.

We are particular about foundation building, re-addessing the students' foundational gaps by helping them understand as against memorizing. We also avail the students with practical problems to strengthen their skills and understanding of each concept.

Build your English foundational skills - writing, reading comprehension, and critical analysis

One of the critical subjects every student must learn in high school is English. One of the criteria of getting admitted into university is dependent on having good English grades. Some of the essential skills students need to achieve excellence in English are essay writing, reading comprehension, grammar, and critical analysis.

At QEA, our English tutoring program focuses on helping students build their reading comprehension, essay writing, and critical analysis skills. Our classes are tailored to cater to each student's learning needs, using their curriculum. In our essay writing lesson, for instance, we teach students on writing a concise and compelling thesis, writing attention-grabbing introductions, and building arguments with quotes from Shakespeare or their novels.

Common challenges that most students encounter in English:

1. Students lack proper sentence structures

The advent of smartphones and instant messaging seem to have eroded good writing skills a great deal in many students. QEA uses discipline to help students to learn how to construct proper English in academic writings, thereby improving their grammar and command of the English language.

2. Students’ essays lack critical analysis and are penalized for marks.

Critical thinking is very important as it accounts for a significant portion of a student’s English grade in high school. When it comes to critical analysis of a story, many students get it wrong by stating the plot summary in their essay. Our approach helps the students go deeper into the story, and understand how the plot connects other themes in the story.

The QEA English tutoring program is one on one, private.

Our seasoned English tutors help the students build skills in reading, comprehension, writing, and critical analysis. At the same time, we remain focused on using their regular school curriculum to teach them.
