Pre-IB is an important time to build a good foundation, without which, the student is not ready to tackle the dififcult IB curriculum in grade 11 and 12. Our Pre-IB tutoring program is one on one, focusing on good explanation that focuses on understanding, and not memorizing. We also teach the student important problem solving techniques as we go through the pre-IB curriculum. These techniques are essential for students to succeed in the Grade 11 / 12 IB programs.
Fast track in learning ahead on IB
Over the years, parents have requested us to help students to fast track and learn ahead. We have deep knowledge on the IB syllabus and offer such program as well.
The IB SL and HL syllabus approaches university difficulty. We have successful track record, in helping our IB students achieving 6 and 7. We provide qualitiy lesson on teaching the concepts first, then showing the student how to apply the concept in difficult IB problems. IB is different from regular program in its difficulty and a variety of problems. Learning how to solve each type of questions is essential And this is what we teach.
Beside this, we provide IB level worksheets, so that our students can practice on a weekly basis, and accustomed to its level of difficulty. We also guide our students to purchase IB exams, so that they build confidence in tackling the IB final exam.

As a trained biologist, chemist, and physiologist with teaching and tutoring experience, I am confident that we can reach your goals for yourself or your children. I personally improved my MCAT score from 34 (old MCAT) to 519, and most recently to 523. I know exactly what is needed for test-takers to improve beyond learning content alone. Not only do I have valuable knowledge, but I can also effectively teach what I know to others. I have extensive teaching experience as a teaching assistant, tutor, and as an MCAT prep instructor. I also taught a human cadaver dissection lab. I have worked in the medical profession as an ED medical scribe. 7 years of tutoring experience! I've always enjoyed tutoring from the interactions I have with students and being able to transfer my knowledge to students is a very rewarding feeling. Starting out tutoring French in high school to grades 1-3 french immersion students, I have always kept my lesson style in a fun and interactive way that will allow students to learn in an enjoyable manner. Most recently being the teaching assistant for first-year university-level math, I have also kept a similar approach and helped my student succeed. Now as a UBC graduate, I am constantly training new students in biochemistry lab work.

I am a Ph.D. student in Photonics and Plasmas in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department at the University of Alberta. Before that, I completed an MSc in Light Science and Technologies from the University of Bordeaux and a BSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from American International University Bangladesh. I am currently working on Laser breakdown spectroscopy for soil analysis. As a part of my Master's Thesis, I have conducted a theoretical and experimental analysis of the interaction between midinfrared nano-second laser pulses and water to develop a laser-assisted bioprinting system. Besides my research activities, I mentored high school students during the last week of March to familiarize them with our ongoing research. Under the STEM fellowship program for high school students, I helped them to learn the fundamentals of laser breakdown spectroscopy and, via some simple experiments, I introduced them to current photonics research.

Ridvik: Ottawa English tutor

I'm a current undergraduate computer engineering student at the University of Toronto. I have a passion for mathematics, and believe that everyone can understand math if they put in the time, effort, and have the proper guidance. I believe that in math and I believe that in life. As a university student, I see that most students (like me) struggle in math is because we don't have anyone to guide us through the difficult problems step by step. Instead, we are just given unenthusiastic lectures, with a couple easy examples and left to 'study' on our own. One or two examples do not always cement our understanding. Often, it can take up to 5 worked examples with an expert to cement a problem-solving technique. That is what I aim to do with students. And I'm not just passionate about math; I'm more than a bookworm. In my spare time, I love to lift weights and play pickup basketball or video games!

I am proudly Canadian 'Qubcois' by adoption and proudly Colombian by birth. I am fluent in Spanish, French, Canadian French and English. Spanish being my mother tongue, I learned French in an immersion school named Lycee Francais Louis Pasteur, in Bogota. I graduated in Computer Science while I was living in Toronto, Canada, where I also had the chance to improve my communication skills in English. I began teaching languages at the Alliance Franaise, back in Colombia for about 2 years, and then I worked as an English, French and Spanish teacher at the Berlitz Languages Institute of Toronto, for about 5 years. Since then and after moving to the lovely Qubec City in Canada, where I currently live, I kept informally tutoring languages as a complement to my job. Then, after having my son, I decided to make teaching my primary job.
Best decision ever! I try to offer a creative approach that could be fun and also effective, by taking advantage of media, learning games and engaging in dynamic conversations based on my students interests. I get the priceless satisfaction of doing what I love, teaching, while witnessing how my students grow and get passionate about the subject they are learning.

I am a second-year Engineering student at the University of Calgary. I hope to specialize with a degree in Chemical Engineering. I enjoy Mathematics and Science and I love motivating others to recognize their potential in the subject too. I enjoy helping my peers with math problems and I believe that providing children with suitable and supportive teaching can help them do their best in their subject. Out of all the subjects, I love calculus the most because I enjoyed studying this subject in high school and first-year at my University. Many of my friends like to call me the human calculator because of my strong mental math skills. I am passionate about helping students through the entanglements inherent with some technical concepts, eliminating student frustration associated with the subjects and helping them gain confidence through their understanding and mastery of the subject matter. I work at Mathnasium in Canada and help the students understand math in such a way that makes sense to them. My goal is to support school curricula providing students with deeper understanding of subjects whether being taught to a student that struggles or enriching the knowledge of a gifted student.

I have been teaching for 32 years, but I love what I am doing so much I am not ready to stop yet! I graduated in 1990 with a Bachelor's degree and with a Master's degree in 2010. In that time I have taught practically every subject from Grade 5 to Grade 8, often in French as well as English. In the last number of years, I have tutored in my hometown in my house, mostly in Math from Grades 5-8. I am passionate about Math and Language but I enjoy all subjects and learning in general. In all my years teaching, my greatest reward is helping students and seeing them achieve. I tutor because I want students to see the best in themselves and to develop their confidence in their learning.

I have PhD in Mathematics from University of Wyoming, USA. I have been teaching mathematics for 15 years in University of Wyoming, WY, St. Cloud State University, MN and SLIIT, Sri Lanka. Mathematics can be a difficult subject for any student. It's nothing to be afraid of. You need to invest some time in understanding the concepts, and practising it. It's also helpful to learn to enjoy it. There is a beauty and fan part as well in this subject. Learning mathematics can be more productive and easier with the help of a tutor. I am a passionate and enthusiastic individual currently pursuing my undergrad in Software Engineering at Carleton University. Since childhood, I have always found teaching to be intriguing as it gives me an opportunity to help others and give back to the community from which I have been valued. My teaching style is encouraging, optimistic and repetitive. I tend to give similar problems till a student is confident in that particular subject and move a step higher along with increasing the difficulty of the question. I have also studied old english (William Shakespeare) for about 4 years and enjoy his play writing style. I am very eager to be a part of the Queen Elizabeth Academy tutor Team and make new connections.

I completed Postgraduate Certificate in Education from the University of London, Uk, and taught in a Grammar School thereafter. I hold a Postgraduate degree in Physics and a bachelor's degree in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
I have more than 10 years experience of teaching higher and middle-level Physics and Science. My students have been able to achieve great results not only in examinations but also in National level competitions. I am passionate about the subject and I believe that it is one of the most interesting and easy-to-understand areas of Science. One only needs to be creative to use logic, knowledge, and practice problem solving to master the concepts. Each concept is highly interesting. During one of my teaching assignments, I learned to improvise science experiments and activities to enhance students' understanding of scientific concepts. Due to my passion and deep interest in the subject, I was entrusted with the responsibility of heading the Science Center at the school. Through my tutoring and teaching experience in various schools over the years and studying PGCE, I have come to believe that as a teacher one should keep abreast with the changing demands of society and their impact on young people. A teacher will only be effective if he/she takes the time to know his/her students' background, possible emotional needs, their likes and dislikes and thoroughly plans their strategy to be effective. Passion for education and faith in the ability of pupils are the only requirements to convert an ordinary teacher and a learner into a great one.

I graduated from Biomedical and Mechanical engineering at Carleton University. I believe education is extremely important in all aspects of life and I want to give students an easy to understand, personalized, and fun education. I often find myself explaining certain concepts to friends and family for fun, and I would love to share this knowledge with more people. I like to keep things casual and treat clients like friends. I have also struggled with many concepts throughout my education and understand how tough it can be to learn some things, so I am patient and give the students the time they need to understand the subject. My favourite subjects to teach are Chemistry, Algebra, and Physics, but I can explain most high school level Biology, Coding, and Calculus.

I am a graduate student at the University of British Columbia. I received my Bachelor of Science in Computer and Communications Engineering with a minor in Biomedical Engineering. I have tutored children of immigrants in British Columbia and the U.S. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about math and science. In my experience helping struggling students understand a certain topic, we always seem to have the most fun (with remarkable advancements) in bringing mathematical concepts or scientific theories to real-life applications. I am a firm proponent of education, believing it to be absolutely necessary for an improved quality of life, and I try to impart this appreciation to all of my students. In my spare time, I enjoy running, biking, and cooking (I find that last one extremely rewarding when I get to share a meal with a friend).

Honestly, there is nothing more satisfying than helping students not only see, but also reach their potential. I know that I am where I'm supposed be when I see that notorious 'lightbulb moment', or when students achieve what they never thought they could. I've always loved math, and so it was the perfect fit to obtain my BA in Mathematics at Lakehead University. Now, I can help others improve their self-concept when it comes to their mathematical abilities since I believe students are capable with the right support and dedication. I have worked in private education in Ontario since 2011 and have helped students ranging from pre-K to adults with their reading, writing and math upgrading. I've worked with students diagnosed with ADD, ADHD, ODD, and OCD; as well as those on the autism spectrum and those with general learning difficulties. With this experience I have developed an array of teaching methods and applications to suit the individual needs of my students. Your goals are my goals!

I have a Bachelor of Math degree from the University of Waterloo. I have had a career in the Information Technology field in the financial industry, and am now retired. I have been tutoring Mathematics on a part-time basis since 2009, full-time since 2018, and enjoy it very much. When I see someone struggling, I take it on as a personal challenge to figure out how I can help them see how to progress to the answer. I have been told on many occasions that I am extremely patient and creative at finding different ways to approach a problem. While the students may not end up loving math ;-), I am thrilled when I see them understanding, progressing in it, and not being so afraid of it. Mathematics for most people is considered a 'scary' subject. Often the student was not taught in a way that they could understand it, and if you miss a year, it's hard to catch up, as Mathematics is based on building blocks. I have tutored students from Grade 4 through to and including Grade 12, in Ontario, Western Canada and Eastern Canada. I have tutored many of my students through various grades as they get older (one starting in Grade 7 and going through to the end of Grade 12). I am thrilled when I see my students improving and doing well!

I have the vision, knowledge, and experience needed to effectively instruct, mentor, and provide timely and effective feedback required for student success. I tutor students in all subject areas in grades 1-9. Although my favorite subjects to tutor are English and Social Studies because I love reading, writing, geography, history, and traveling. I believe all students can learn and achieve success and if they are struggling then I need to adapt how I am presenting material/skills/concepts in order to better meet the student's needs. It is most important for students to enjoy their learning so be prepared to celebrate your success, laugh, smile, and achieve your desired goals when you learn with me!

I love teaching because students leave the class with something they did not have before. The ability to share knowledge is a bit like a superpower! I have that superpower(at least been told so, LOL). I have been teaching students across various age groups and countries for the past 2 years. I expertise in Mathematics, and Computer Science(yeah , all those 'Geeky' stuffs, cool right?). I, like you, am bored with traditional teaching methods, thus if you want to learn concepts while having fun, then I am the person you should be taking your class with. So, what are you waiting for?

I am currently a 2-term student of honour at Seneca College @York university studying the Biotechnology Advanced Program. Since my High school years, I have successfully tutored children of all ages in the K-12 category, and I have found tutoring to be something I am very enthusiastic about. Despite my young age, I have extensive knowledge in specific subjects likeEnglish, Mathematics, Social Science, Social studies, Biology, and Chemistry; However, I am most passionate about teaching English and Biology as I pride myself to be very good at listening, speaking, reading, and writing english as expressed by my TOEFL test score. While I understand I am a lot younger than most tutors on this platform, I believe that could be an advantage to the students as youths seem to connect and relate more with people closer to their age brackets, so I could easily understand a lot of the student's learning difficulties as opposed to older adults, and this will in turn aid in my ability to discern the best teaching strategy or technique for the students for each student learns differently. As a college student who has recently taken several standardized tests in the past 6 years GCE, WAEC, and TOEFLI am more up to date with the grading technique and examination structure as most of these standardized tests change patterns after a few years. Therefore, I provide my students with updated knowledge and scope regarding all aspects of the exams including the area of concentration (AOC) for each test. Apart from the academics of it all, I love children, and I love imparting the knowledge and insight acquired from my High school and most recent college years into other High school students as I feel knowledge should be shared! In addition, I have a very bubbly, fun, patient, caring, and understanding personality with a positive approach to problems, and I believe that is the best personality type for students of the K-12 category.

Welcome to Queen Elizabeth Academy, where we provide high quality Chemistry tutoring Ottawa for students who are attending high school. If you are seeking a Chemistry tutor in Ottawa, you have come to the right place!
IB Chemistry
IB Chemistry Tutoring in Ottawa
IB Chemistry is separated into Standard Level (SL) and High Level (HL). Standard level is slightly more difficult than high school chemistry 11 and 12. However, High level approach the difficult of first year university. To perform in IB chemistry courses, the student needs to understand and apply the concept in a variety of difficult, situation based problems.
IB Chemistry is a challenging subject. Many students resort to memorizing formulas and hoping to plug in a number to receive the answer - and do well on tests and exams. Oftentimes the teacher will change the question - especially on application problems, where the student will get student, result in poor grades.
Memorizing steps and equations doesn't work in IB chemistry. You need to start with the foundation (such as stoichiometry, or calculating equilibrium). The. next step is to understand the concept and know how to apply to specific problems on IB chemistry. Then the next step is to go through a variety of application problems, which is especially difficult in IB chemistry. Then learn important problem solving skills tailored to IB chemistry. These are all situation based questions that you will encounter on your IB chemistry tests and exams

IB Physics Tutoring in Ottawa
IB Physics is separated into Standard Level (SL) and Higher Level (HL). Standard level is slightly more difficult than high school physics 11 and 12. However, Higher level approach the difficult of first year university. To perform in IB physics courses, the student needs to understand the concept and sharpen his or her problem solving skills, which is essential. There are units such as electromagnetism that is very abstract and difficult to comprehend. Same for diffraction grating.
IB Physics is a challenging subject for a lot of students. The key challenge is that IB Physics is problem solving based. Students are accustomed to math, where they will have a formula and "plug-in" the number to derive the answer, following the procedures and steps. For IB Physics, you need to know which formula to use in the first place and how to manipulate the formula according to the situation.
Memorizing steps and equations doesn't work in IB Physics. All questions in IB physics are application based, they are word problems where the solution changes along with the situation. The teacher can change the question slight, such as adding friction or an extra box, your entire solution - the equation you use, the givens, the approach, will be different. Understanding the concepts and apply them, instead of memorizing equations, is the key to perform well in IB Physics.

IB Math tutoring in Ottawa
IB Math is separated into Standard Level (SL) and Higher Level (HL). Standard level is slightly more difficult than high school math, such as advanced functions and calculus. However, Higher level math approach the difficulty of first year university. Beside the limits and derivatives, students need to learn integration at first year level of difficulty. To perform in IB math courses, the student needs to understand the concepts and connect these concepts, and know when to apply which one in deciphering the problem.
IB Math is a challenging course for a lot of students. The key challenge is that IB Math cover a variety of topics and they are all intricately connected. Therefore, students need to have a deep understanding of the materials and know how to apply them. Secondly it depends a solid foundation on the student's part. Math is cumulative, therefore the student at IB Math must master grade 9-11 math. The first two steps of a solution is typically the new materials. However, all the subsequent steps, such as simplifying the answer is all based on foundation skills. Students lacking foundation skills will lose a significant portion of the marks.
Memorizing steps and equations doesn't work in IB Math. Most questions in IB Math are application based. Different scenario request adjustment on the equations and the solution is often time very different. Understanding the concepts and knowing when to apply what is really the key to succeed in IB Math

IB English Tutoring Ottawa
IB English is a very demanding subject. It has a deep focus on English literature and the student needs to excel in essay writing and critical analysis to perform well in this course. Students are expected to analyze literature. The course is very intensive where students need to submit essays and writing tests / oral presentation on a regular basis.
Essay writing is an essential component of IB English in Ottawa. What is a good introduction? How do you write a good thesis? How do you build an argument with evidence taken from the text? How do you tie your essay with the theme? All these are key elements to succeed in IB English Ottawa. At QE, we teach each of these, so the student will gain the skill to write essays as required by the IB program. We have a rigorous system, where our tutors will guide the students / brainstorm to build the thesis / arguments / paragraphs. The student will then write his drafts. On the next sessions, our tutor will edit and explain the strengths and weaknesses where the student will make further modifications. Our program is very effective, where our IB English students had achieved high grades and got into top universities such as Waterloo and medical school in UK.
Critical thinking is another critical component of IB English in Ottawa. The key challenge for a lot of students, is that they write plot summary of the text, where they should be analyzing the text instead. This will result in a significant lost of marks. We teach critical thinking, and help the student to understand how to analyze the text and put those analysis into their essays.

The QEA Standard and How We Make a Difference
1. Structural and systematic learning approach
We help students achieve their best by putting up a structural way of learning. We accomplish this by providing a proper lesson to help students review concepts, revisit homework in a stepwise order, and mock exams to practice for all subjects. Below is the list of our structural and systemic learning approaches:
- The proper lesson to review the concepts
- Provide extra worksheets that mimic test problems
- Going over homework and application questions step by step
- Mock exams
It is not uncommon to see many students perform below standard because they usually are given test questions that are way complex than their assigned homework. Therefore, many of these students don’t get to score as high as 80's and 90's. At QE, we provide extra worksheets that are as difficult as what students face during tests.
Homework practices play a vital role in helping students achieve success; we hold on to this belief at Queen Elizabeth. Before students go on break at the end of the session, we assign homework packages to them and randomly check at the beginning of a new session.
We use a combination of lesson/concepts + application problems + homework to help our students achieve excellence and make them fit for admission into top universities.
Most of our competitors would sit back and wait for their students to ask questions, which is an ineffective method because the struggling students don’t know what to ask. Instead, at Queen Elizabeth, we actively teach using the approaches mentioned above.
Inquiry for IB Tutoring Ottawa: +1 (365) 800-3775
2. Focus on understanding the concepts and foundation building
We always ensure that our students have a sound understanding of concepts. We provide them with an in-depth knowledge of every topic. For instance, in Mathematics, we make the students understand each topic from basics before proceeding to the complex tasks. The students find it easy to treat complex tasks once the basics are well rooted in them.
We also make students understand the principle behind every lesson; this is to prevent them from getting confused during tests. In most cases, students tend to memorize steps, but they get confused during tests. We help our students to avoid this by letting them have a sound understanding of every step.
Inquiry for IB Tutoring Ottawa: +1 (365) 800-3775
3. Our tutors have a deep understanding of the curriculum as provided by the Ministry
Queen Elizabeth is a private school of over nine years with full Ministry approval. Our tutors have full access to the teaching materials and plans. They are well informed about the curriculum. As such, they have an in-depth understanding of the building blocks from one step to the other. They know the requirements and everyday challenges of students in each grade.
For example, one of the main challenges for grades 10 and 11 students is Trinomial. Proper building of this foundation prepares the students well for the more advanced Functions and calculus of grade 12. Many students struggle because of a lack of appropriate foundational structure in lower classes. At QE, we help our students lay up a good foundation upon which they can build on.
Inquiry for IB Tutoring Ottawa: +1 (365) 800-3775
Our tutors are not only experts in their area, they are top achiever themselves.
They don't just tutor our students, oftentimes they serve as a role model and mentor to our students.
Queen Elizabeth tutor team is a team with a solid bond; our tutors' have an average tenure of 3 years. Most of our competitors operate as agencies or centers; their tutors are freelancers who come around and go. As such, they often deprive their students of the opportunity to get accustomed to a teaching pattern.
Our tutors are specialists in the subjects they teach. We won’t ask an English graduate to teach Mathematics. Our tutors are well trained and experienced in their fields.

Time management is a key to your success, especially when you enter senior high school grades. The key to time management is to dedicate a time that you can put 100% of your efforts in your studies. We recommend you to use a calendar, so you can visualize your plan.
All our top students do this. You can pencil down a dedicated time, say Mon to Fri 5-6pm, for IB, or other subjects. During this time, you take out all the distractions - turn off your phone, wifi, and focus solely on your work. You want to dedicate 100% of your effort to your work. Therefore, dedicate your time in making your own study notes and practice through your IB homework is important.

If I am doing poorly, how can I use the help from QE IB tutoring in Ottawa?
Tutoring Ottawa
If you aren’t performing well in the subject, chances are you have foundation gaps. The first step is really to address your foundation gaps. That’s also one of the focus on QE tutors in Ottawa. Once we discover your gaps during the tutoring session, we will re-teach you that particular component. Take an example, a lot of grade 11 and 12 students struggle with factoring, that’s one of the common foundation gaps. We will then re-teach it. Now, once you understand how to perform it, you need to practice at least 10-15 questions, so it sinks with you.
The next step is to review the lessons after the tutoring session. The best way is to write your own study notes. Then you need to practice homework problems. If you do all these 3 things, you will see measurable improvements from QE tutoring in Ottawa.

Queen Elizabeth Academy | Tutoring and Private Credit Course
I credit QEA for my entry into Western Engineering! Tutors/Teachers actually teach and care about ensuring students fully grasp the learning, their on-line group learning format far exceeds that in the public school system, numerous additional resources were available to set me up for success, and the school is very well run and organized. Thank you QEA!read more
It was a pleasure and a turning points for my children education when they joined Queen Elizabeth's Academy. What really make this Academy different is the great attention given to students, they analyse carefully the strength and weakness of their student, they work on clear strategy to improve students performance and are very flexible to change strategy when needed. they worked patiently with my son and improved his performance to excellency. It is great how management and especially Mr. Victor follow up with us on my son progress , I received many phone calls and emails with updates, this tight follow up and advices we received resulted in huge difference in my son performance and his awareness to his education. I highly recommend QEA.read more
My daughter decided to get a jump start to her last year in high school and decided to take the Gr 12 English summer course at Queen Elizabeth Academy. She had a great experience with Victor and her teacher Justin. Based on current circumstances classes were held virtually. Content was delivered in a professional manner, with group discussions and constant support throughout the course. I would highly recommend Queen Elizabeth Academy.read more
At a time when school had to be done differently, Queen Elizabeth Academy stepped up to the plate. During the initial change of school due to Covid my son was going to a public ally funded school and the most contact he had with his teachers was to read or watch something on-line and then do an assignment which he got a grade back but no feedback on what he did right or wrong. At Queensway academy my son has to sign on daily with his teacher and classmates ( small class size only 8 students) and she actually teaches a class. There is plenty of time for questions and my son gets feedback on his tests. Being at work I can’t monitor if my son actually signs on but there is great communication from the school. One day my son slept in and I got text and emails asking where my son was. They follow up quickly if you have any questions or concerns. I highly recommend attending here. Great learning happens here.read more
My daughter Megan has had the opportunity to take grade 11 math and grade 12 advanced functions at queen Elizabeth Academy. She is registered for physics 12 in the fall. Due to the pandemic situation we have been very worried that our child is not going to get the foundations in math and science that she needs. Thanks to Victor and his team of highly qualified teachers our concerns have been alleviated. Megan has had the traditional in class model with QEA and has just finished up with an online platform. Both have been great and I am confident that Megan is now prepared for university. I truly believe that the public school system of distance learning cannot do what Victor and his team have done for my daughter. She has been prepared for success as a direct result of professional teaching methods that work.read more
Have had nothing but positive experience with QEA for my 2 kids. We have taken both credit courses and some tutoring as necessary. Private credit courses were mainly grade 12 English over the summer and grade 12 math courses throughout the fall semester in the evening. I have heard quite a bit about private credit courses offered by other schools that are not as through and almost too easy for students to get high average. Courses at QEA are well laid out and very extensive to make sure they provide good foundations for post secondary education.
Victor is excellent at communicating with parents and students and he is also very good at listening and acting on everyones feedback. Highly recommend QEA!!read more
My son took a summer class from Queens Elizabeth Academy to improve his ability to do math. During this month, I can see a huge improvement because his mindset of learning and practicing his math skills are incredible. Huge thank you to Queens Elizabeth Academy for helping my son and helping his learning abilities.
My brother has enjoyed his tutoring immensely, and the tutors were kind and attentive throughout the quick paced overall tutoring period. Would definitely recommend QEA to anyone looking for summer tutoring.
