Pre-AP is an important time to build a good foundation, without which, the student is not ready to tackle the difficult AP curriculum in grade 12. Our Pre-AP tutoring is one on one, focusing on good explanation and understanding, and not memorizing. We also teach the student important problem solving techniques as we go through the pre-AP curriculum. These techniques are essential for students to succeed in the Grade 11 / 12 AP programs.
Over the years, parents have requested us to help students to fast track and learn ahead.
We have deep knowledge on the AP syllabus and offer such program as well.
The AP syllabus approaches university level difficulty. We have successful track record, in helping our AP students achieving a 5 (90%+). We provide quality lesson on teaching the concepts first, then showing the student how to apply the concept in difficult AP problems. AP is different from regular program in its difficulty and a variety of problems. Learning how to solve each type of questions is essential and this is what we teach.
Beside this, we provide AP level worksheets, so that our students can practice on a weekly basis, and accustomed to its level of difficulty. We also guide our students to purchase relevant AP textbooks and resources such as past AP exams.
For students who are writing the AP exams, but their home school does not provide the relevant course, we can offer such course in an one on one format. (non credit). We have experience teaching the entire AP course to our students, and prepare them to the AP calculus exam, where the student has achieved a 5 (highest grade possible on AP).
We offer these one on one courses (non credit) for AP subjects: Math, Chemistry, Physics Biology and Statistics.
QE is accredited by the Ministry of Education.
We have 6+ years of experience tutoring AP level
Many of their tutors have no knowledge of the AP curriculum. Have no idea on what is being covered and the proper methods being taught.
We proactively teach the concepts first then show how they apply to problems step by step.
Their tutors sit back and wait for students to ask questions. Often times students don't know what to ask. They don't know the curriculum enough to know what to teach.
Our AP tutors have college level teaching experience and teaches problem solving techniques to tackle difficult AP problems to our students
No experience, simply answer individual questions. No additional skill being taught to students

AP Chemisty Tutoring in Austin
AP Chemistry is the advanced level courses that approaches university level. To perform in AP chemistry courses, the students require a deep understanding of the concept, situation based problems and lab based problems
AP Chemistry is a challenging subject. Many students resort to memorizing formulas and hoping to plug in a number to receive the answer - and do well on tests and exams. Oftentimes the teacher will change the question - especially on application problems, where the student will get student, result in poor grades.
Memorizing steps and equations doesn't work in AP chemistry. You need to start with the foundation (such as stoichiometry, or calculating equilibrium). The. next step is to understand the concept and know how to apply to specific problems on AP chemistry. Then the next step is to go through a variety of application problems, which is especially difficult in AP chemistry. Then learn important problem solving skills tailored to AP chemistry. These are all situation based questions that you will encounter on your AP chemistry tests and exams.

AP Physics Tutoring in Austin
To perform in AP physics courses, the student needs to understand the concept and sharpen his or her problem solving skills, which is essential. There are units such as Momentum that is very abstract and difficult to comprehend. Same for rotational motion.
AP Physics is a challenging subject for a lot of students. The key challenge is that AP Physics is problem solving based. Students are accustomed to math, where they will have a formula and "plug-in" the number to derive the answer, following the procedures and steps. For AP Physics, you need to know which formula to use in the first place and how to manipulate the formula according to the situation.
Memorizing steps and equations doesn't work in AP Physics. All questions in AP physics are application based, they are word problems where the solution changes along with the situation. The teacher can change the question slight, such as adding friction or an extra box, your entire solution - the equation you use, the givens, the approach, will be different. Understanding the concepts and apply them, instead of memorizing equations, is the key to perform well in AP Physics.

There are two courses in AP Math - AP Calculus and AP Statistics. AP math approach the difficulty of first year university. AP Calculus - key concepts such as limits, derivatives and integrals. Especially integral is first year university level, which does not present in any grade 12 courses. To perform in AP math courses, the student needs to understand the concepts and connect these concepts, and know when to apply which one in deciphering the problem.
AP Math is a challenging course for a lot of students. The key challenge is that AP Math cover a variety of topics and they are all intricately connected. Therefore, students need to have a deep understanding of the materials and know how to apply them. Secondly it depends a solid foundation on the student's part. Math is cumulative, therefore the student at AP Math must master grade 9-11 math. The first two steps of a solution is typically the new materials. However, all the subsequent steps, such as simplifying the answer is all based on foundation skills. Students lacking foundation skills will lose a significant portion of the marks.
Memorizing steps and equations doesn't work in AP Math. Most questions in AP Math are application based. Different scenario request adjustment on the equations and the solution is often time very different. AP French is a rigorous course designed to develop fluency in the language, focusing on four core skills: writing, reading comprehension, listening, and speaking. By this stage, students are expected to have already mastered foundational grammar, including passé composé and other tenses, and to speak smoothly without frequent pauses or hesitation.
The AP French exam tests these skills in a variety of ways. Students must write different types of texts, such as an email response and an argumentative essay that incorporates evidence from three cited sources. Listening and reading tasks include analyzing authentic French materials like news reports, literary excerpts, and cultural discussions. The speaking portion requires students to record spontaneous responses and present their ideas clearly and persuasively in French. If your child is struggling, working with an AP French tutor in Toronto can provide the support they need to master these skills. For example, in our 1 on 1 private AP French lesson, our French tutor in Toronto conduct the lesson in French and have a dedicated time to converse with the student on selected test topics. This will help the student to develop fluency.
AP French is challenging because it goes beyond just learning the language—it’s about applying it fluently and confidently in real-world contexts. The exam requires a deep understanding of grammar, an advanced vocabulary, and the ability to analyze, argue, and justify viewpoints in French. Unlike earlier French courses, memorizing vocabulary or grammar rules isn’t enough. Students must be able to adapt their knowledge to new and complex tasks, such as writing an essay under time pressure or responding to an unfamiliar audio prompt.
Another challenge is the breadth of skills tested. Students must excel in all four areas—writing, reading, listening, and speaking—which means any weakness in one area can impact their overall performance. For students who find this overwhelming, an AP French tutor in Toronto can provide a tailor and structure approach that focuses on the gaps. For example, if the student stumbled upon French essay writing because of grammar mistake, we will highlight each error on his essay and review the grammar rules associated on each, so he can learn and improve.
At QE, we focus on building the skills students need to succeed in AP French. Our one-on-one sessions are tailored to each student’s needs, whether they struggle with grammar, vocabulary, or fluency. For writing, we teach students how to structure their essays, analyze sources effectively, and express their ideas clearly. For speaking, our French tutor in Toronto, dedicate a portion of the lesson, to speak freely with the student in French, on selected AP conversation topics. In this way, students will get accustomed to speaking French and gain confidence for the AP French exam.
With regular practice, personalized tutoring, and our step-by-step guidance, QE ensures students are fully prepared for the challenges of AP French. If you’re looking for an AP French tutor in Toronto, we’re here to provide the support your child needs to excel.
Focus on various writing tasks, including argumentative essays, persuasive essays, email responses, and narrative writing, all in French. Students must learn to organize their thoughts clearly, use proper grammar, and develop a strong, coherent argument or story.
Students must be proficient in a range of grammar topics, including tenses such as passé composé, imparfait, subjunctive, and future tenses. Understanding complex sentence structures and using them accurately in both writing and speaking is key.
Students need to analyze authentic French texts, from literary excerpts to news articles. The focus is on understanding the meaning, context, and tone of the text, as well as making inferences and summarizing key points.
Students are trained to understand spoken French in various contexts, including news reports, interviews, and conversations. Listening skills are essential for the exam, where students must respond to questions based on audio prompts.
Fluency and confidence in speaking are critical. Students prepare for oral assessments by practicing spontaneous conversations, debates, and presentations on various topics. Emphasis is on clear expression and pronunciation.
Understanding the culture of French-speaking countries is an integral part of the AP French exam. Students are expected to discuss and analyze cultural topics, including French history, society, and current events, in French.
For the argumentative essay section of the exam, students need to incorporate three cited sources. This includes reading, analyzing, and integrating information from provided materials to support their argument.
