Chemistry is a challenging subject. Many students resort to memorizing everything: concepts, formulas, steps adn hope to do well o n tests - only to end up performing poorly. Chemistry tests and exams comprise application problems that are scenario based and change each time. They require a deep understanding of chemistry concepts and the ability to apply them in different problems.

Navigating through O level Chemistry involves a deep understanding of the concepts and the ability to apply these concepts to a wide range of application problems. The O level chemistry syllabus delves into fundamental chemical principles with a diverse range of problems, from stoichiometry and chemical equations to organic chemistry reactions and atomic structure.
Memorization will not work, but the student needs to understand the concepts and apply to different scenarios. Our tutoring approach focuses on breaking down these complexities, guiding students through each concept adn equipping them with the problem solving strategies to tackle O level chemistry exam effectively.
Chemistry Tuition invovles difficult theories and advanced applications - to university level difficulty. From theormodynamics to organic chemistry, it demand the student with good analytical skill and critical thinking, along with problem solving techniques.
At QE, we first teach the student to understand the concept, and then how to apply these concepts in various applications. We further teach problem solving techniques neceesary for our students to succeed in Chemistry Tuition exams.

Chemistry is a challenging subject. Many students resort to memorizing formulas and hoping to plug in a number to receive the answer - and do well on tests and exams. Oftentimes the teacher will change the question - especially on application problems, where the student will get student, result in poor grades.
Memorizing steps and equations doesn't work in Chemistry. You need to start with the foundation (such as stoichiometry, or calculating equilibrium). The. next step is to understand the concept and know how to apply to specific problems on Chemistry. Then the next step is to go through a variety of application problems, which is especially difficult in Chemistry. Then learn important problem solving skills tailored to Chemistry. These are all situation based questions that you will encounter on your Chemistry tests and exams

To score high in chemistry, students needs to understand the concept in depth, and the why behind it
Understand the reasoning is important, in order to apply the logic to changing circumstances. Memorizing rules and formulas will not works
A lot of concepts in chemistry are inter-related. Students need to understand how each sub-concept related to one another. It is often useful to draw a "big picture" flowchart.
In QE lessons, we teach how part and show you how each one relates to other pieces, so you can build a good understanding and score higher.
One of the biggest challenges for students on chemistry problems, is to know the difference between ideal vs. real situation for chemical equations.
Chemical equations are based on ideal case. However, on chemistry problems, they will present real situation (especially those data / lab based problems), where the chemical equation will break down / no longer work
Take a calorimetry problem. Most students knows how to calculate heat
say heat transfer in a coffee inside a cup. However, when it comes to an Chemistry problem, this equation will breakdown, so simply plugging in numbers will get the wrong answer.
Why? Because this equation is based on the assumption that all variable remain constant. In a real situation / Chemistry calculation, m (mass) is not constant, as the coffee will slowly evaporates
Therefore, students need to understand the underlying assumption behind each equation, and know how to modify the equations based on the changing circumstances
This is what we teach at QE lessons.
To score well on chemistry, it's critcal to learn problem solving techniques.
When it comes to multiple choice, there are process of elimination technique specially used for chemistry. This will help students to speed up and gain time solving multiple choice problems.
For long answer chemistry problems, because oftentimes they combine multiple concepts into one question, it is important to learn problem solving techniques, so you will know how to apply / combine / modify questions based on changing circumstances.
We teach these techniques in our chemistry lessons.
